Mt. Wrightson Ascent - 9/08/24 - 5.2 miles to the top
Thanks to all who were able to make it out today for the Mt. Wrightson Ascent! We had 28 runners in all and two pooches, including Potato (8 miles) and Bode (full ascent). Some highlights from the run include two separate bear sightings, one just above Josephine Saddle by the early crew, and another on the upper Stretch of Super Trail near Baldy Saddle. There were also several deer, a coati, and a bunch of wildflowers and butterflies. Five runners came back with stories to tell of minor crashes and falls, but all in good spirits. Remmy Pursely, age 10, gets the award for most amazing effort; she's run Mt. Wrightson now two times. There were also two reports of Grumpy Men pleasantries being exchanged.

Congratulations to the 13 hardy souls who braved snowy weather to complete the Mt Lemmon Ascent: from Sabino Canyon Visitor Center up Sabino Trail to the AZT and Romero Pass, up Lemmon Trail to the top of Mt Lemmon, and finally down to the Ski Valley parking lot at a brisk 30 degrees F. (The gate was closed to vehicles for the top 1.7 miles of Ski Run Road.) Distance to the top is 18.6 miles plus 1.7 down the road.
Thanks to Cassidy Werner for volunteering to sag and also to Heather, Renee and Robert for helping get runners off the mountain.

Loma Alta - 11/24/24 - 28.8 miles Full ONB
Another year, another successful Loma Alta TTR run! We had a great turnout: 23 runners hit the beautiful trails on this side of the Rincons, and all of them made it back safe. We had some pretty incredible performances on the full route to Manning Camp: Catlow Shipek got really close to taking down his own course record from 10 year ago! Sarah Dasher set one of the fastest female times, and Tim Cronk set the age group course record! The morning was very nice, but it got quite warm for November later in the morning and in the afternoon. Thank you for coming out everyone, and kudos to all of you who beat the heat and the Loma Alta trails to submission!
Finally, many thanks to Co-RD Julia Rowe and her pup Brook for staying out there till the last runner finished!

TTR Christmas(ish) Honeybee - 12/22/24
A high-spirited group showed up for the annual TTR Honeybee Christmas-ish yesterday. This year saw more people take on the shorter and middle distances than usual, but we did have Brianna complete the long loop, while Angela, Cliff, and Marcy tackled the nearly 22 mile loop.
This run is a bit unique for TTR since it lacks much elevation gain, making participants actually have to run the entire time. Another hallmark of this run is the lack of trail signage. This year we didn't hear of any major off-course excursions, but there were a few minor wrong turns made as usual. A chilly morning turned into a phenomenal weather day, making it a very enjoyable run and socializing afterwards. Special thanks to Heather Webber & Tim Cronk for bringing their unique & tasty chocolate chip cookies with rosemary and coconut. Let us know if there are any corrections needed and we look forward to seeing everyone out again next year!
