Mt. Wrightson Ascent - 9/12/21 - 5.2 miles to the top
Thanks to all those who came out today for the Mt. Wrightson Ascent! We had 38 people in all. It was a beautiful cool start early in the morning, with some tough heat later in the day. Pretty amazing all those butterflies on the road out. Anyhoo, thanks for sharing part of your day with us, and hope to see you again soon at one of the upcoming runs!

Sunset Side-Door Festival of Routes - 9/26/21
On Sunday, Fall made a quick entry into AZ and 17 runners braved the rain and cold up on Mt. Lemmon, yet were rewarded with the trails to themselves. It made us quickly forget the 100 degree temps the week prior (and secretly wish for them).
Thank you to everyone who came out and enjoyed the morning with us, whether or not you could find your cold weather gear. Also special thanks to Noemi Mills for her assistance with RD duties!
Runners made up their own routes which included trails, roads, and maybe a little bushwhacking. Here are the results:

Florida-Madera-Florida-Wrightson Double - 10/31/21 - 16.8 miles
The Florida-Wrightson-Madera Marathon had a small, but energetic band of runners. One sturdy lad made it through the entire 26.8 miles and 10,000+ feet of elevation gain. Our collective hats are off to Cliff Anderson for completing the entire arduous course. Zach Nelson Bravely held the TTR advance Camp to resupply Cliff as he finished the first half of the run. Tanque Verde Loop - 11/14/21 - 28.5 miles
This last Sunday many runners came out to run the Tanque Verde Loop. We had a great turnout with 10 people completing the full route and a few others who ran shorter distances. It was a bit cool in the morning and warmed up quite a bit by afternoon. Congrats to Brianna Grigsby who bested the women's course record in a speedy 5:17:35. Also, thanks to Vasileios for bringing some outstanding homemade baklava! Below are the results. I wasn't able to get everyone's age and I'm missing one runner's time. Please let me know if you see any corrections.

Please review your results below to make sure I got everything right.

Agua Caliente Bull Run Barn Burner - 2/6/22 - 18 miles
Thanks to all who came out to the First non-COVID-canceled Agua Caliente Bull Run Barn Burner. We had 10 Full Bulls, 6 Unicorns, and 2 Lambs, which is remarkable since there were 20 cars that showed up. Everybody who signed in/out is accounted for.
I'm glad we were able to get an Agua Caliente ascent back in the TTR program and especially impressed by the 10 folks that followed that up by a trip to the AZT and back.
Results are grouped into Full Bull/Plus, Unicorn/Plus (all Agua Caliente Ascents, though the Baby Unicorn involved an unmarked but very nice route back by Steve Outridge), and Lamb (which is one of my favorite weekday runs). If anybody is disgruntled by the extra "Plus" time, you have most of 2022 to build up your inner bull RAGE to unleash for next year.
The "Plus" was mostly associated with missing flags at the first road back in civilization that a good samaritan apparently pulled Saturday, though Ben's "Plus" was following the GPX route, which went further than the turnaround cairn. Some people resorted to Google Maps and took Soldier Hwy back. Others backtracked to the official route, and Angela creatively discovered a network of horse trails that put her back on course that I will have to try and rediscover myself
I hope this exposes some new trails for folks and I look forward to hosting this one again.

Keystone Traverse - 2/27/22 - 18 miles
The 8th Annual Keystone Traverse was another success. 34 brave souls started at a chilly graveyard and made it up and over the massive Sierrita Mountains that were still sporting a few snow patches from last weeks storm. I had commissioned the trails to be graded(ok roads) for some speedy fun segments and also the weather cooperated with a near perfect day. With the grill master and Co RD Fernando Bustamante serving up Quesadillas and other goodies the runners were well fed after the run. The thundering herd of runners was also kept at bay with the help of Rob Warnick and Billy Oliver to keep the noise down for the locals. Like last year I heard no complaints from nearby residents in the graveyard.

Catalina Peaks Run - 3/13/22 - 19.8 miles
Catalina Peaks, with the point-to-point shuttle and multiple checkpoints is one of those weird runs that’s proportionally harder to RD than most TTR adventures. However, hopefully the quality and uniqueness of the route, plus its difficulty hopefully makes it worthwhile. I couldn’t have done it without Gary’s and Zach’s and Jil’s help, so thank them effusively when you get a chance.
What I’m super excited about this year’s running, is first, this is the first time since we’ve done it since 1999, AND for the most part, no one got lost! The only thing that tripped a few runners up is that wildcat trail right below Bigelow summit, that runs left off the end of that last switchback of Mt. Bigelow Trail to the top. Angela, and I think Sarah, managed to run the wildcat and still get back on course by taking a right when they got to the radio tower road, though Chris and Ellen cut the top off Bigelow off by taking a left at the same point. The left turn wildcat has probably happened enough times that we could probably call this an “official” course variation.
Other notes - parts of the route were super icy, so we should also be happy that (I don't think) that there were any injuries. Microspikes did seem to be the big savior for runners that braved Aspen Draw. I would opine that Cat Peaks should probably be moved to April again, or to the fall if there isn't a spring time slot that works that late in the season.

Notes- I tried to check (for the most part) against Strava to make sure I got the timings/distances right. Distances as noted are GPS from Strava, so that’s where the variations occur. I would hazard that the full route probably is around 19.8 miles, though for people that got more on their GPSs should keep those numbers and consider the extra mileage as a training bonus.

Thanks to Randi & Bruce for getting everyone checked in in the morning as well as providing all the later grazing materials!
A good time seems to have been had by all (okay, most) and everyone made it back safely. A few people added some bonus mileage, intentionally and by mistake, none of which is reflected in the results. Just think of it as room to improve your time next year by staying on course. Thanks to everyone for coming out and I'll see you at the Stagger!

Cave/Wrightson/Gardner - 4/3/22 - 22 miles
A total of (28) runners attended the Cave/Wrightson/Gardner TTR event Sunday. There was some snow, a little wind, and perfect temperatures to run. Ten (10) hardy souls completed the challenging (22) mile Double Wrightson route. All were under 7 hours on this difficult course. Tyler Stinson set the course record in a very fast 4:11! Another (7) runners the (15) mile single Wrightson, the Cave/Gardner route was completed by (5) runners and (6) other runners completed various distances. Let me know if I have made any mistakes.
Thanks for attending!

Thank you to Jamie for RD duties and also thanks to Riva & Tim for helping out at San Pedro Vista!
From Jamie Madden:
28 runners came out to the Green Bug run this past Sunday. Only a few people got "slightly" lost down the Brush Corral trail, but they managed to get back on trail again. The temps were wonderful and cool in the morning but it got a little hot near midday. Great job to everyone who came out for this one!
