Florida-Madera-Florida-Wrightson Double - 10/18/20 - 5.2 miles to the top
The 2020 Florida-Madera Wrightson Double is in the books. It was a cloudless day with record warmth for this year's run, but this didn't appear to slow the runners as Ben Markwart laid down a new course record and no one looked especially worse for wear back at the Florida Trailhead parking lot. Joe Dana saved us with a snack run to Green Valley (the snack selection I had rounded up were left safe and secure on my kitchen counter in Tucson) plus his always excellent and certainly welcome aid station in Madera Canyon was once again top notch. FYI, if you happen to be planning a Wrightson run in the near future, Bellows Spring is currently little more than spot of mud on the ground according to those I queried on this point. On the Florida side, there were a couple of minor leaks in the pipe. Also, sounds like the trails were all in pretty good shape.
Thanks for coming out, everyone! Had a great time. Rumor has it that Zack Nelson might be stepping into the RD role for next year. We'll see how it shakes out.

Chiricahua National Monument Overnight - 10/24-25/20 - 11 miles
The Chiricahua event was attended by (16) adventurous members the weekend of October 24/25. On Saturday we ran on different trails in small groups, enjoyed a campfire and dispersed camp up in the Coronado National Forest. On Sunday morning we ran a new TTR classic (11) mile lollipop route within the Chiricahua National Monument. Some members took advantage of the wide runnable trails to record fast times, while others leisurely ran to enjoy the perfect morning. All took time to take photographs, enjoy the amazing views and unique rock formations. Thanks to all who attended to make this a successful event.

It was a *very* chilly morning yesterday at the 5th annual Honeybee Christmas-ish Holiday Run, but it sure did warm up a lot for those who tackled the long distances. This year featured a great deal of getting lost, but that's half the fun, right? Steve Outridge and Chris Fall even made it over the Tortolitas to finish at the Wild Burro trailhead in Dove Mountain! Here are the results. Let me know if there are any corrections.

Firstly- I'd just like to point out that TTR is an amazingly wonderful group and a tremendous asset to the Tucson Running Community. A big thanks to all that have carried it through the ages, and those who keep it going. It's more than my pleasure to help out, and truly an honor to RD such a venerable run.
I'll leave the discussion on the Sub-2 attempt and the mind-boggling performances to Angela's thread. Here's what I captured for everyone's run today. Let me know if I made any errors, or if you had any additions, suggestions or changes.
Thanks all for coming out, and enjoying the spectacular day on the trails. Can't wait to see the film!

Tanque Verde Loop - 2/21/21 - 28.5 miles
We had a good turnout and great weather for yesterday’s Tanque Verde Loop run. There were eight people who completed the full 28.5 mile route, and others doing various distances. The park rangers were there most of the day checking people for passes, but I think most of us already had one, or got the chance to renew theirs (like myself). We had one runner who sustained an injury along Tanque Verde Ridge, but thankfully we were all able to communicate and we happened to have someone from our group hiking up the ridge, who was able walk back with the injured runner and gave him a ride. Thanks Paul Fick!
Please let me know if I missed anyone or if you see any corrections that need to be made.
Thank you!

Keystone Traverse - 2/28/21 - 18 miles
The Seventh Annual Keystone Traverse saw near record numbers of participants. The runners were blessed with good temperatures and plentiful Vert. The New 18 mile addition was popular and an impromptu 11 miler was born as well. The new starting spot at the graveyard was a hit as well and I heard no complaints from the full time residents. With 39 runners and the 4 different distances It kept Fernando on his toes recording all the times. With Fernando and Billy helping out with the RD duties it went really well and the pesky wind played nice at the finish line until about 1pm then it started getting angry. Some runners had a little extra exploring to do (no extra charge) and some missed the towers but everyone still had a good time. Hope to see everyone next year at the Sierrita Death Race as I see if I can outdo LAZ with more difficult routes(joking)(maybe). Preapoligizing with name butchering and inaccurate times/distances. Post race goodies provided by the 3 Amigos Fernando, Billy, and Robert.

Cave/Wrightson/Gardner - 3/28/21 - 22 miles
A total of (26) runners attended the new Cave/Wrightson/Gardner TTR event Sunday. There was some snow, a little ice, occasional strong winds and perfect temperatures to run. Four (4) hardy soles completed the challenging (22) mile Double Wrightson route. Another (8) the (15) mile single Wrightson, The Cave/Gardner route was completed by (5) runners and (9) other runners completed various distances. Let me know if I have made any mistakes. Everyone had a PR!
Thanks for attending!
-John

Santa Rita "Peak" Run - 4/11/21
We had a fun time at Wrightson, It was nice meeting some new folks and seeing some friendly faces. Most folks did the full the route and some decided to add some cheese onto their taco. Hats off to Neil Stitzer who looped back up to the summit for some extra Cheese! Great job to everyone who came out. I am thankful for being able to help support this run! :)-Ben

First....thank you all for coming out. I had a blast. I can't express how much it meant to me to hang out with you human beings in such a normal way.
And to make it all even more special we had a birthday - Robert Harris. If I had known - there would have been cake!
AND we had a record breaker!! Kent Warlick broke Ken Young's long standing time for 3 trips. Kent did 3 in 7:07:52!! Beating Ken's record by 8 seconds. CONGRATULATIONS!
I'm so glad we all got to witness that. What a way to exit the room Kent Warlick!!
